New Painting in the making

Beginning of November I got an assignment for a new painting / company logo.

Maybe you are interested to see the proces how such painting develops. So you can look over my shoulder. Let's hope the final result will be what I hope... a very enthousiastic client ;-))

1. It started with a conversation on a spiritual Expo in The Hague in the Netherlands. A woman asked me to design her a company logo.
What I'm not used to experience is that during the conversation I already got an impression of a symbol, so I made a rough sketch and showed it to her. She liked the idea and gave me green light.

This symbol will be the basis of the painting, and the painting will in its turn be the basis of her logo.

2.
The result after a Saturday of painting.

While I was painting I was having problems with the two rounds shapes left and right. What colour should they be? How should the energy move? What are they for? I couldn't figure it out.
I know I'm inspired by my guardian angel (to mention one), but I also realized that 'they' were trying to show me something and that I didn't grasp the idea... yet.
No problem, I'm used to see paintings get finished some time, so this will be solved somehow. Just keep the good faith and be patient.

But when I put the painting in the already darkening living room and watched it from a distance I suddenly saw what I had painted... a donut as seen from the inside!!!
Now, my enthusiastic reaction may be somewhat of a miracle to you, but then I need to tell you that the donut- or torus-shape is a very important symbol in the Divine Geometry. It symbolises part of the Creation of the Cosmos. In the future I will elaborate on that subject, but for now please believe me... it's important.

I sent an email to our friend and seer Yvonne, just to show her what I'm up to now. That same night she replied saying that she sees eyes in it. And she got a title as well... Face It !

Well... that sounds good! So before the painting is halfway finished we have a title ! That's not the usual chronology in doing things, but meanwhile I get used to this. Great!

3. (18 November 2008)
With this thought in mind I now know how to move on, and I'm willing to, but life is busy around here, so I need to wait days before having time to start painting again.

Here I only had about 2 hours of time. The colours are intensifying. The upper part is slowly beginning to give of light, and some kind of tornado starts developing through the central axis.

4. (21 November 2008)

Slowly the colours are deepening, and the accent of the energy movement is shifting. This is a long proces of endless adding very thin watery strokes of paint.

4. (22 November 2008)

It seems like we're losing colour depth here, but I can assure you that the colour will come back. My thought was that I'm going too slowly in building the colours, being too carefull, afraid to do something wrong. So now the approach is a bit more direct. To the end there will be time to do the fine tuning.

5. (24 November)

A few hours more airbrushing and you see the tunnel like light are developing stronger. Funny to see that some of the colours that were there in the first painting have completely covered by new layers of paint. That's how it goes. I wonder sometimes why, but stick to thought that everything has a reason. Fact is that the colours get more and more depth and transparency. The Light is getting stronger.

12 December 2008

About finished now.

When you compare the painting above with the one below, you'll see a strange effect that is caused by the appearance of the stars.
It's funny, our brain, or our mind, plays tricks with us, because as soon as stars emerge the whole painting starts showing transparency.

Playing around a bit with light and positioning of the painting make a lot of difference...
