During the making of this object I preferred only one kind of music, namely the soundtracks of the trilogy 'Lord of the Rings'.

Nearly every time my girlfriend and partner Marianne came into my atelier this one song started playing: Into the West, song by Annie Lennox.
When it was finished I took it with me to several locations and every time I found out it hang on a wall directed to West.

During an open air festival in my neighbourhood I had taken this with me. We had a stand on the open field and I searched for a suitable spot to put it. I wasn't occupied with wind directions or whatever. I didn't care, I only wished it show as good as possible. Apart from that it was a cloudy day. But when the Sun finally appeared I started thinking and suddenly I realized I had directed it to the West. I borrowed a compass and checked the orientation: it was within 2 degrees accurate!
