Beyond the Ice and the Fire the original was made for Eliza White Buffalo Eliza White Buffalo has gone through such an experience, one so extreme like you rarely ever hear about. The message this painting is telling you, among others, is that you are never forgotten. This Rose has followed a path, from the darkness into the Light, from beyond the Ice, and the Fire. At the same time it is a gift from the Spirit World, for you to see that 'We' have never abandoned you. The making of this painting started in 2010, when Wim and his love Marianne went to Loes van Loon, a well-known psychic in the Netherlands, for a consult.... (continue reading below the painting)

| During the consultation Loes suddenly said, "Linda, your passed love, asks me to ask you, Wim, to make a painting for her."
She then started telling what is was about. "Normally," she explained, "it is so that you receive impulses from the Spirit World to start a painting, or to design a new piece of jewellery. But not so this time. This time Linda asks me to ask you. There's a reason for this, but that you will find out later."
Why she added this I then didn't know, but it had its effect: I got nervous. And first thing I thought wise now to do, was to clean up my studio. 'What will they think with all the mess I sometimes have laying around?' :-) The process of painting was kind of 'fighting'. I started using lots of green colours, but somehow I didn't 'get it'. It was difficult, not satisfying and slowly I started wondering about what was going on here. Why didn't Linda, or who it was inspiring me, simply give me the impuse to start painting. Then I would be free Autumn 2010, and winter 2011... the painting was there without me doing anything on it. I didn't know how to move on. In February 2011 I think it was we connected through Facebook with Eliza White Buffalo, a psychic living in the nothern part of Ireland. I don't know how I found her, but the contact was so open and felt so right, that soon we exchanged many emails, and soon we found out that she had written a book. We, Marianne and me, got it and started reading it. The book, by the way, is called 'Two Roads'. It was written by Eliza, but in fact her guardian angel Nicolas Black Elk is writing the story. In the book Eliza used the name 'Rose' as a character who is based on herself, although somewhat fictionalized. And the story starts with some really horrible events. All for a reason, of course, but it really made us gasp for breath. Can things be that bad? Yes... apparently so. As the story continues it gets lighter and lighter and slowly one starts to see that the true story behind all this is that of the Two Roads, which is about a vision Nicolas Black Elk has had when he was a young indian boy, destined to be chief of the Lakota: the difficult earthly road and the red road of Spirit. Were the two roads meet there is a holy place. I had read the book in no-time, but it was Marianne who said, while still reading the book... it's Rose. Rose... it's the painting... it is her! Eliza! The painting is made for her! Linda and Rose must know each other. Linda knows what it is to be in Rose's situation. I could only agree. And now the road was open. And I continued painting. And we planned to go to Ireland to visit Eliza and bring the painting to her. That was in August 2011. Then Loes made a rough sketch on a piece of paper, of a rose on a long stem, and a few leaves. Below she wrote the words in Dutch 'Ik geef je verheldering' (I give you clarification/elucidation). She added that Linda has asked help from my guardian angel and from a well-known painter who's now in the Spirit World, to get this done properly.
to paint whatever I wanted. It would be much easier. And shouldn't painting be like having fun instead of fighting it all the way? So I was thinking. Sometimes (often :-) I have trouble understanding 'them'.
